April 11, 2014

There’s always something going on in Phuket and this week is no exception.

The 20th annual Phuket Bike week kicks off today, 11 April, in Patong Beach. You can hear the rumble of custom choppers, Harley Davidsons and racing bikes in the streets from the show’s many participants from Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore. Bike week is a family event with food stalls, live music and motorcycle exhibition. It is being held at Loma Park in Patong 11-14 April, then it will move to Saphan Hin in Phuket Town 18-19 April.

April is the hottest and driest month in Thailand and on 13 April, the streets will be filled with thousands of people celebrating Songkran. Songkran is the traditional Thai New Year and it is often referred to as the biggest water fight in the world. This is considered to be the most important Thai holiday and it is an experience not to be missed!
